I am certain that each of us has experienced at some point in our life a first love.

Sometimes that first love becomes our last love, but more often than not, our first love is simply a starting point for the journey we take through life in search of our “next” love.

Along that path we simply test the waters with each and every relationship, some successful, some not, and in all likelihood, most not our soul mates. Sometimes we decide that we will not settle for anything less than our true soul mate, so we bide our time and wait (perhaps alone), but no matter how we progress in our search for love, we learn.

This book deals with the process of learning; starting with our first love(s), progressing though the ones that follow, making mistakes and hopefully learning from each of them, and finally coming to the realization that it is up to each of us to decide who finally becomes our soul mate.

Do I believe in soul mates, absolutely, but even more than that, I believe in the process of learning.

WHERE DID THAT WONDERFUL FEELING GO?

Where did that wonderful feeling go

Of being tickled by the one you love

And laughing aloud

And smiling

As tears rolled down you face

And running to avoid more

But hoping

WHERE DID THE SMELL OF FRESH CUT GRASS GO?

Where did the smell of fresh cut grass go

Or the feel of new fallen leaves

In the winter

When snow covers the ground

With the power of white
